Good locally sourced produce cooked unpretentiously and brought fresh to the table.  We care about the food that we serve and prefer to source it from local producers wherever possible. Our hope is that the guest will have travelled further than the food on the breakfast table to arrive at Lochview! By doing this we think that you will get a good flavour of the Highlands.

 

Oatmeal porridge or seasonal fresh fruit....

-we use oatmeal from nearby Golspie Mill,

 

Home made bread and preserves....

-again the wholemeal bread flour is milled at Golspie, we hope to have a supply of our own honey this year, fruit for the jams are picked from our garden,

 

Traditional Scottish breakfast, bacon, eggs, sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes....

-a choice of pork, beef or venison sausages and the black pudding all from our local butcher at Bonar Bridge,

 

Scottish smoked salmon with scrambled eggs....

-the smoked salmon is from Kinloch Smokehouse near Tongue on the north coast,

 

Locally caught, grilled wild brown trout when in season...

-only if George has managed to catch any!

 

Poached smoked haddock with a poached egg....

-fresh from Ullapool gently poached in milk, served with a milk reduction - or simply in water if you prefer,

 

Haggis, made by our local butchers with mushrooms and two poached eggs.

 

Our own hens with some help from those on a local croft provide all of the eggs we need.
